Responsibilities Prepare and cook authentic Caribbean dishes, ensuring each plate meets high standards of taste, presentation, and quality. Follow established recipes while also contributing to menu planning with creative ideas inspired by Caribbean culinary traditions. Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, seasoning, and assembling ingredients efficiently and safely. Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with health regulations. Assist in food service operations, including plating dishes, serving guests, and managing catering orders when needed. Manage kitchen inventory by monitoring supplies, ordering ingredients, and minimizing waste. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service hours. Experience Previous kitchen experience in a restaurant or food industry setting is required, ideally with a focus on Caribbean or similar cuisines. Demonstrated culinary experience with food preparation techniques including knife skills and meal assembly. Experience in fine dining or upscale food service environments is preferred. Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety protocols is essential for maintaining quality standards. Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus, showcasing your ability to adapt recipes for special dietary needs. Familiarity with menu planning, catering services, and food presentation enhances your ability to contribute creatively to the team. Strong understanding of kitchen operations combined with excellent communication skills ensures efficient teamwork during service.
