Job Description

We are seeking a fast, efficient Bakery Fry Cook to join our bakery production team. In this specialized role, you will be responsible for preparing, frying, and finishing our hot-oil products, including donuts, fritters, crullers, and beignets. The ideal candidate works well under pressure, respects hot-oil safety protocols, and takes pride in achieving the perfect golden crisp. Key Responsibilities Donut & Pastry Frying Operate commercial fryers safely, maintaining optimal oil temperatures throughout the shift. Proof and prepare dough rings, holes, and specialty pastries specifically formatted for frying. Drop and flip dough pieces with precision timing to ensure uniform color, texture, and rise. Drain fried items properly on cooling racks to prevent excess grease absorption. Glazing & Finishing Inject fillings like creams, custards, and fruit jellies evenly into cooled pastries. Dip and coat hot and cooled items in glazes, icings, powders, and sugar mixtures. Collaborate with bakers to coordinate production flow and meet opening-hour deadlines. Safety, Sanitation & Oil Management Filter and change commercial fryer oil regularly to maintain the highest flavor quality. Clean and sanitize fryers, ventilation hoods, screens, and surrounding prep surfaces daily. Follow strict safety guidelines regarding high-heat equipment to prevent burns and kitchen accidents.
Skills & Qualifications Experience:
Proven experience as a fry cook, short-order cook, or bakery assistant.
Technical Skill:
Comfort operating industrial fryers and handling high-temperature oils.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand for long shifts next to heat sources and lift up to 50 lbs (oil jugs/flour bags).
Pace & Timing:
Excellent time-management skills to handle fast-moving, high-volume production.
