OVERVIEW
: We are looking for a dependable and motivated Prep Cook to support both our line kitchen and meal prep team. This position focuses on preparing fresh ingredients, assisting with daily food prep, and helping keep the kitchen running smoothly during service.
Responsibilities include:
Washing, slicing, dicing, chopping, and portioning fresh ingredients Preparing ingredients for the line and weekly meal prep production Supporting the line cooks during busy service times Assisting with meal prep assembly/building when needed Cooking on the line and preparing menu items as needed Restocking and organizing kitchen stations Following recipes, portion standards, and food safety procedures Helping prepare catering, large orders and meal plans in between peak hours. Operating standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by helping with washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, sweeping /mopping of kitchen area, cleaning appliances and kitchen equipment, etc. Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and ensure all food and other items are stored properly. Checking in and stocking food deliveries. Adhering to all sanitation and food production codes while following health and safety guidelines. Perform other kitchen duties as assigned This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, can multitask, and is willing to jump in wherever needed to support the team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous kitchen or food prep experience preferred Must have experience slicing, dicing, chopping and general food prep Must have previous experience cooking raw proteins and fresh produce. Experience cooking on a flattop, set up, clean, stock, and break down a line. Knowledge of food service policies/procedures for IL state health laws. Ability to handle fast paced situations during high volume hours. Strong attention to detail; quick learner and team player. Ability to listen and communicate effectively in a team environment.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to regularly move boxes, weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to position themselves to bend, reach, scoop and stand throughout assigned shifts. Must be able to tolerate exposure to food allergens (tree nuts, peanuts, dairy, etc) Must be authorized to work in the United States.
