Food Handler Certification Full Job Description Overview :
Under the direction of the Showroom Chef, the Prep Cook will perform the duties outlined below for the culinary programs at the Chicago Experience & Design Center at the Merchandise Mart. Responsibilities Executes culinary production as instructed by the Showroom Chef and/or Showroom Sous Chef for Bosch, Thermador & Gaggenau Gains a strong working knowledge of appliances and uses them appropriately Works as part of the culinary team to develop recipes, menus and training demonstrations Demonstrates high level of quality food production and ensures that foods are prepared and served on schedule Assists in execution of cooking demonstrations Assists in planning and execution of special events Consistently maintains documentation of recipes, logs and other kitchen paperwork Demonstrates a willingness to assist in all kitchen activities including serving, clearing, dishwashing and restocking as needed Maintains a clean and orderly workspace and complies with food safety guidelines at all times Maintains positive work environment in kitchen • Maintains professional appearance and demeanor at all times in accordance with company dress standards Other duties as assigned by the Showroom Chef and/or
Showroom Sous Chef Core Competencies Required :
Experience as a prep cook, caterer or similar Formal culinary training or similar experience in culinary arts excellence Takes direction carefully and thoughtfully; reads and follows recipes Knowledge of kitchen health and safety rules; preferred Illinois ServSafe® or other certified food handler certification Outstanding organizational skills; A team player with good verbal and written communication skills Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
Schedule:
Partial Full Time - approximately 32-40 hours per week based on the needs of the business. Typical schedule will be between the hours of 8am-5pm Monday-Thursday. Occasional evening hours are required

Salary:
competitive hourly rate, negotiable based on level of experience. Compensation will be paid through an independent staffing agency.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
