What we're looking for Several years of experience as a Cook, Chef, or similar role, ideally with some leadership experience under your belt, is required for this one. A certificate in commercial cookery or equivalent hands-on experience is expected, along with a strong foundation in food safety. You'll also need to have completed, or be willing to undertake, a Food Safety Supervisor course, Basset certification, and First Aid training. We strongly prefer candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish, as the leader of your kitchen crew, the ability to communicate effectively across your whole team makes a real difference every shift. What you'll be doing As Head Cook, you own the kitchen. Every dish that goes out, every standard that's upheld, every cook that grows under your watch — that's your legacy in this restaurant. Day to day you'll be leading and motivating your kitchen crew, ensuring GYG's recipe guides, processes, and procedures are followed to the letter, and maintaining food safety standards that are non-negotiable. You'll manage inventory and costs to keep operations running smoothly and profitably, and you'll support your General Manager with reporting and keeping a well-organized, clean restaurant that the whole team is proud of.
