POSITION
Head CookREPORTS TO
Director of Residential Operations Melrose ParkSUPERVISES
Dietary AideMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must be 21 years of age. 2. Must be able to prepare food from written recipes. 3. Some knowledge of food preparation and sanitation required. 4. A valid Illinois driver's license. 5. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, must be able to grasp, crouch, stoop 6. Successful background clearance, physical & drug/alcohol screeningPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Cooking experience in a restaurant or skilled care facility. 2. Supervisory experience. 3. Sanitation certification.STANDARD OF PERFORMANCE
The Head Cook oversees and prepares quality meals for both clients and staff. The Head Cook oversees and prepares meals for special events. The Head Cook supervises all Dietary staff.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Oversees and prepare all meals according to menu and recipes, allowing for special diets and substitutions. All food should be prepared in an appetizing manner with good taste and appearance and ready to serve on time. 2. Supervises all Dietary staff. 3. Follows all sanitation guidelines. 4. Completes all tasks in a timely, efficient manner. 5. Maintains accurate records. 6. Assist in collection of items from the Food Bank. 7. Completes weekly inventory of all food items. 8. Trains all dietary staff. 8. Assumes on call responsibilities as assigned. 9. Must be able to assume all duties of the cook position when needed.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Attends required training. 2. Assumes responsibility as a mandated reporter concerning incidents of purported abuse/neglect of students as outlined in the agency's policies and procedures. 3.
