In this vital role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional food service and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your passion for food preparation, menu planning, and serving will contribute to creating a welcoming environment where every meal is a memorable experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills while supporting the well-being of our community through nutritious and delicious offerings. Responsibilities Prepare and serve meals in accordance with established menus and dietary guidelines, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met. Assist in menu planning by providing input on recipes, ingredient sourcing, and portion sizes to optimize taste and nutritional value. Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to health regulations. Support food preparation activities including chopping, cooking, plating, and garnishing using appropriate knife skills and culinary techniques. Contribute to catering events or special meal services by setting up stations, serving guests, and managing food distribution efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment by sanitizing work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas regularly. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent customer service during meal times. Qualifications Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly preferred. Strong background in food industry roles such as restaurant or kitchen experience, with knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and food service practices. Demonstrated proficiency in menu planning, meal preparation, and food handling techniques. Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations to ensure compliance at all times. Excellent knife skills coupled with experience in culinary tasks such as chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail. Prior experience in catering or serving roles is advantageous but not required.
