The Dietary Cook plays an important role in providing nutritious, appealing meals that enhance the quality of life for our residents. If you enjoy cooking, working with seniors, and being part of a team-focused environment, we encourage you to apply. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary requirements and restrictions. Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and served in a timely manner. Follow therapeutic and modified diet guidelines as directed. Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation. Monitor food temperatures and maintain accurate records. Properly store food and supplies following food safety regulations. Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas. Assist with inventory management and stocking supplies. Work collaboratively with dietary staff and other departments to provide excellent resident service. Follow all facility policies and procedures, including infection control and safety standards. Qualifications Previous cooking experience in healthcare, long-term care, restaurant, or institutional food service preferred. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to follow recipes and dietary restrictions accurately. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable attendance and a positive attitude. ServSafe certification is a plus but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
