Crescendo Coffee & Café is so much more than just a coffee shop. It's a delightful gathering space for delicious food and friendly conversation. We're looking for a skilled Afternoon/Evening Line Cook to help prepare dishes from our unique array of menu options. Our ideal candidate will follow all recipes and standards, maintaining an excellent attention to detail in a fast-paced kitchen, and ensuring high-quality food and timely service for every customer. Great work life balance. The cafe closes at 7pm Monday - Saturday and 2pm on Sunday!

Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and customer preferences Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies Ensure that food is prepared and presented consistently and according to specifications Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines Assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations Monitor food quality and portion control Handle special requests and dietary restrictions appropriately Work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines during busy service periods Assist with menu development and testing new recipes Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure accurate and timely orders

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school certification is a plus Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role in a restaurant or food service setting Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Excellent time management and organizational skills Attention to detail and a commitment to quality Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Strong communication and teamwork skills Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food handling procedures Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
