The Line cook duties will consist of assisting the head chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our client satisfaction. Great Team Shift:
PART TIME WEEKENDS 16-20
hours on
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
Responsibilities Perform and oversee all food preparation tasks for all fruits, vegetables, meats, poultry, fish, etc. used in creating and maintaining recipes Prepare all food items per recipe guidelines, tasting and adjusting for flavor with assistance of team members Ensure back area adheres to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation and service Maintain appropriate levels of necessary dishes and utensils; keep all dishware used in cooking and serving clean and sanitary at all times Assist the Head Chef with overall culinary direction and development of the team, while promoting a teamwork environment Oversee the daily operation and execution of all menu categories and recipes to ensure the quality and efficiency for every dish Able to follow recipes, make recipe conversions, adhere to food allergies, test for quality control and propose menu items Ensure that the food comes out in high quality and in a timely fashion Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures Basic understanding of kitchen lingo and etiquette Support the chef in their absence Ensure compliance with all food-handling and sanitation regulations Experienced with multiple cooking techniques such as: braising, grilling, smoking, frying, sauté, baking, etc. Portion control and basic measurements
QUALIFICATIONS
Proven experience in all stations of the kitchen and multiple kitchen skills Knowledge of kitchen equipment, basic tools, small wares, culinary techniques Able to anticipate the needs of others in the kitchen and proactively work to meet those needs Strong communication skills Organization and cleanliness Seeking minimum of 1 year experience in a fast paced atmosphere Able to meet all scheduling commitments Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis and stand for extended periods Flexible schedule and reliable transportation Certified in proper food handling
Food Managers Certification Pay:
From $18.00 per hour
