Responsibilities Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality. Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and improving existing recipes based on customer feedback. Maintain food safety standards by following proper food handling procedures and sanitation practices at all times. Support the kitchen team during busy service hours, ensuring timely meal preparation and efficient workflow. Handle food with care, utilizing knife skills and proper techniques to prepare meats, vegetables, and other ingredients. Contribute to a clean, organized work environment by cleaning work stations, utensils, and equipment regularly. Collaborate with servers and dietary staff to meet special dietary needs and accommodate guest requests with professionalism. Experience Previous kitchen experience in a restaurant or food service setting is highly preferred, especially in fine dining environments. Experience working within the food industry, including food preparation, cooking, and food handling practices. Knowledge of dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus for understanding special meal requirements. Strong culinary background with skills in menu planning, meal preparation, and catering services. Demonstrated proficiency in knife skills, food safety protocols, and general kitchen operations. Familiarity with restaurant operations, including serving processes and food industry standards. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
