Full Job Description Description:
Help prepare, plate, and pass out food in the kitchen. Following CACFP and KDHE guidelines. Portioning food, passing out food, kitchen clean up, washing and sanitizing dishes. Being mindful of the individual child's allergies and make appropriate substitutions.
Accountability:
The Cook reports to the Center Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
Kitchen experience preferred, but not required. Commitments to the
Program:
Follow CACFP guidelines. Promote the center's philosophy and educational objectives. Support the center's code of ethical conduct. Engage in ongoing staff development to improve personal and professional skills. Support the professional growth and development of colleagues by sharing materials and information and providing helpful feedback and encouragement. Attend staff meetings, workshops, and in-service training provided by the center. Complete 8 hours of in-service training annually (in-service must include CACFP training each year). Protect privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to families, children, and team members. Build positive relationships and communicate in a respectful manner with families, children, team members, administration, Board of Directors, Countryside Church staff, volunteers, and the community in which we serve. Personal Qualities and Special Job Characteristics Must be physically able to perform the job of a cook (e.g. able to lift objects and/or equipment up to 40 lbs; able to stoop, bend, sit, and stand for extended periods of time). Must have a warm supportive attitude towards children. Must be willing and able to put aside personal views to relate to families and support them in non-judgemental ways. Must be reliable. Must be flexible in receiving assignments or adapting to changes in the program. Must be willing to accept supervision in order to improve work performance. Must be willing to perform other duties as required. Job Requirements Within Specified Days of Employment Obtain TB test
