Full Job Description Prepare Meals:
Follow standardized recipes and menus to prepare a variety of meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, catering to different dietary needs and preferences.
Special Diets:
Prepare food for residents with specific dietary restrictions or needs, such as therapeutic diets, allergies, or diabetes.
Food Safety:
Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and practices, including proper food handling, storage, and preparation techniques.
Serving Meals:
Assist in serving meals to residents, ensuring a pleasant and timely dining experience.
Snacks and Special Events:
Prepare and serve snacks and assist in preparing food for special events or parties.
Inventory and Ordering:
Assist with taking inventory of food and kitchen supplies, and recommend proper quantities and items based on resident demand and dietary needs.
Kitchen Maintenance and Operations:
Cleanliness:
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area, following established cleaning procedures and sanitation guidelines.
Equipment Operation:
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, stoves, refrigerators, and dishwashers.
Waste Disposal:
Properly dispose of food waste and other materials in accordance with established policies.
Documentation:
Complete necessary paperwork, such as food logs, temperature checks, and inventory records.
Other Responsibilities:
Follow Instructions:
Adhere to instructions from the head chef or dietary manager.
Teamwork:
Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective service.
Resident Interaction:
Interact with residents in a respectful and courteous manner, and be attentive to their needs and preferences.
Health and Safety:
Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
