You are flexible, team-oriented, and willing to support a variety of kitchen operations throughout the week. A Day in the Life As a Cook in Assisted Living, you will prepare and serve nutritious, appealing meals for residents while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation. You will work closely with fellow culinary team members to ensure meal service runs smoothly and residents receive an exceptional dining experience.
Responsibilities include:
Preparing menu items according to recipes, production sheets, and dietary requirements Ensuring food quality, portion control, and presentation standards are consistently met Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment Assisting with food preparation, service, and kitchen cleanup duties Monitoring food temperatures and following all food safety procedures Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations Supporting special events, holiday meals, and resident functions as needed Assisting in other areas of the culinary department as assigned Qualifications Previous cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, senior living, hospitality, or institutional setting preferred Ability to follow recipes, production sheets, and standardized procedures Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices Excellent time management and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable attendance and punctuality Friendly, service-oriented attitude Schedule This is a full-time float position supporting Assisted Living dining operations.
Typical shifts may include:
5:30 AM
  • 2:00 PM 9:00 AM
  • 5:30 PM 10:30 AM
  • 7:00 PM Shift assignments vary based on departmental needs.
Weekend and holiday availability is required as part of the regular rotation.
