We are the largest private provider of residential and community-based services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the state of Kentucky. We are a local non-profit organization founded in 1970 by Louisville-area parents of people with IDD. In the absence of the Dietary Manager and Director of Dietary (DOD), is responsible for seeing that all duties necessary for the on-going operation of the department are carried out and that department goals are implemented. Cooking position is responsible for preparing meals per daily menu/recipes, checking for accuracy, attractiveness, proper temps and modifications. Prepares individual servings according to portion control standards, special diet alternates or food modification. Assists the dietary team members with stocking food inventory including dry storage, freezer, refrigerator. Responsible for light and general cleaning kitchen area and securing area for the night. Also responsible for scheduled cleaning of kitchen equipment. Works as part of dietary team performing other duties as assigned. Willing to be trained for other cooking responsibilities.

High School diploma/GED preferred. Experience in preparation of meals on a regular basis is preferred but interest in learning food service may substitute. Valid driver's license. Must have reliable transportation to arrive at work on time. What your typical schedule looks like: Non-Exempt, Hourly. Full-time, 40 hours per week. 9:30am-5:30pm. Flexible scheduling required.
