Job Description

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Bastrop is Currently Seeking an Experienced and Motivated Therapist/Counselor to Join our Team! We are excited to extend our services in this area to those in need! The Freedom Team is committed to providing high-quality nutritional care that supports the health and recovery of our patients and residents across 3 hospitals. Our Dietary Department plays a vital role in patient care by preparing safe, nutritious, and well-balanced meals in accordance with clinical guidelines and dietary needs. We are supported by an energetic and motivated leadership team that is implementing positive changes and strengthening our food service operations. Position Summary:
Responsible for ordering, stocking, preparation, serving, presentation, and documentation of the food according to established policies and procedures. Serve special diets when applicable as ordered by the physician and approved by the dietician. Ensure meals are delivered by the consulting food service agency are properly placed in the warming carts and food temperatures are within regulatory guidelines. Monitor the temperature of the refrigerators, warming cart and other equipment used in the dining room. Assist patients with beverages, and food choices when applicable. Works cooperatively with other members of the multidisciplinary team and contributes to a positive work environment. Participates in rotation of evenings, weekends, and holidays. Performs related duties as required. Attend all-staff meetings and trainings as requested by supervisor. Attend daily shift report when reporting for duty. Attend all training as required by supervisor. Attend and actively participate daily in multidisciplinary staffing. Attend and participate in departmental meetings. Serve on projects as delegated. Preferred knowledge, skills, and/or experience required:
Education:
High school or the equivalency is preferred.
License:
Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association. (Will provide service or renewal if needed) "ServSafe" certification is preferred upon hire. (Will provide service or renewal if needed)
Experience:
Basic knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding food preparation and serving of food.
