Executive Chef / Sous Chef Position Summary Metairie Country Club is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Cook to join our culinary team. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes with consistency, professionalism, and attention to fine dining standards. The ideal candidate takes pride in reliability, maintains excellent kitchen discipline, and delivers exceptional food experiences for Club members and guests. Key Responsibilities Prepare and present menu items according to established recipes, plating standards, and fine dining expectations. Maintain consistency in food quality, portioning, taste, and presentation during all service periods. Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while remaining calm, organized, and focused under pressure. Ensure all food is prepared safely and in compliance with sanitation and health regulations. Assist with daily prep work, station setup, inventory rotation, and kitchen cleanliness. Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to execute banquet, event, and à la carte service at a high level. Demonstrate reliability through punctual attendance, readiness for scheduled shifts, and dependable performance. Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while supporting a team-oriented environment. Properly store, label, and handle ingredients to maintain freshness and minimize waste. Adapt to seasonal menus, special member events, and changing service demands. Qualifications Previous experience in a fine dining restaurant, hotel, resort, or private club kitchen preferred. Strong understanding of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations. Ability to follow recipes precisely and produce consistent results. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or as part of a team. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed. Culinary training or certification is a plus.
