Job Description
As a Prep Cook , you will support kitchen operations by preparing ingredients and ensuring all components are ready for service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and committed to maintaining food safety standards in a fast-paced environment. Company Overview TEI Hospitality is hiring to join our team! The Mill Wharf Restaurant (est.1984) is a long-standing New England dining destination known for its panoramic waterfront views, classic American and seafood dishes, and its setting on the historic site of the town's original mill. For four decades it has been a favorite for both locals and visitors looking to enjoy scenic dining and relaxed coastal atmosphere.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning according to established recipes and standards Assist with the preparation of basic sauces, dressings, and other kitchen components as directed by the culinary team Properly label, date, and store food items to ensure freshness, organization, and reduced waste Maintain a clean, organized prep station and support overall kitchen cleanliness and sanitation Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines at all times Assist with receiving deliveries and storing products following proper handling procedures Communicate effectively with kitchen team members to support efficient and timely food preparationREQUIREMENTS
Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide proper documentation. Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required; training provided for the right candidate. Basic knife skills and knowledge of food safety practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Physically able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs., bend, climb, and reach overhead. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.BENEFITS
