We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality Japanese cuisine, and we are looking for someone who takes pride in their cooking and thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Line Cook at Hana Sushi, you will be responsible for executing hot kitchen items, including appetizers, teriyaki, tempura, noodles, and other signature dishes. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items consistently according to Hana Sushi's recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards. Manage food prep efficiently at your station, including cutting vegetables, preparing proteins, and making house sauces before service. Operate standard kitchen equipment (fryers, grills, woks/stoves) safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation at all times; strictly adhere to food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines. Ensure proper food storage and rotation (FIFO) to maintain freshness and minimize waste. Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure all hot dishes are ticketed, prepared, and timed perfectly with front-of-house service. Assist with opening and closing kitchen procedures, including deep cleaning equipment and breaking down stations. Requirements Minimum 1+ years of experience as a Line Cook or Prep Cook in a fast-paced restaurant environment (experience with Asian/Japanese hot kitchen cuisine is a plus, but not required). Strong knife skills and a solid understanding of food safety practices. Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items when necessary, and work efficiently under heat and pressure during peak hours. Great teamwork, communication skills, and a positive attitude. Reliable transportation and excellent punctuality. ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification is a plus. Flexibility to work evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation & Benefits Pay:
$ 20 per hour (Competitive pay based on experience)
