Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic culinary team as a Prep Cook, where your enthusiasm and culinary skills will help create delicious, high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. In this vital role, you will assist in preparing ingredients, supporting kitchen operations, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. Your energy and attention to detail will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary expertise while working alongside passionate food industry professionals. Duties Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning fresh produce and other food items according to recipes and standards Assist in cooking and assembling dishes, ensuring timely and accurate meal preparation Support menu planning by organizing ingredients and maintaining inventory levels Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure cleanliness, proper storage, and hygiene throughout the kitchen Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination Maintain a clean and organized work station, including sanitizing utensils, equipment, and surfaces regularly Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service hours Skills Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods Experience with menu planning and meal assembly in a restaurant or catering setting Proficiency in food handling safety standards and sanitation practices Excellent knife skills for efficient ingredient prep Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately This role is perfect for individuals passionate about the food industry who want to grow their culinary skills in a supportive environment.
