WHALE'S TALE RESTAURANT & SEAFARER'S PUB
is HIRING!! About Company We are a family-owned business in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Our restaurant is an exciting well known establishment open year round. We are attached to a seasonal marina that caters to yachts that travel up and down the Maine coast. In the summer season, we are open 7 days a week, 11 am - 9 pm. In the winter, we go down to six days a week. We are currently hiring FT/PT Line Cooks. If you are high energy, enthusiastic we are looking for you to join our team. Year round housing available. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes with precision and creativity. Your expertise will contribute to delivering memorable dining experiences, ensuring every plate meets our high standards of quality and presentation. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards Assist in menu planning by suggesting new ideas and seasonal specials Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including food prep stations and cooking equipment Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and sanitation guidelines Support food presentation to ensure dishes are visually appealing before serving Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation during busy hours Participate in catering events or special functions as needed, providing excellent service in food preparation and serving Qualifications Proven background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within restaurants or the food industry Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling practices Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward culinary tasks Strong organization and active listening skills Ability to work on your feet for most the day and lift 30 pounds at a time Record of maintaining high standards in restaurant cleanliness, sanitation, food quality, and guest satisfaction Highly Energetic, self-motivated goal oriented and dependable Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidays Serv Safe Certified Ability to take direction Embark on a culinary journey where your skills make a difference!
