Job Description

Staffing Inc. is partnered with a great small restaurant and retail business in Saugatuck. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Prep Cook to join the team. This role requires a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Prep Cook Responsibilities:
Prepare ingredients and assist in menu planning according to dietary department guidelines. Assemble dishes according to recipes and presentation standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring all food safety protocols are followed. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other culinary tools. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Support Chefs and line cooks by performing basic cooking tasks, such as boiling, frying, and grilling, under supervision. Prepare side dishes or garnishes. Organize and label food items in storage, ensuring that all ingredients are easily accessible and stored properly. Maintain a clean and organized workspace by regularly cleaning workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
Prep Cook Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and practices. Experience in a culinary environment. Must have proficient knife skills and various cooking techniques. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented atmosphere. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently. Adapt to changing menus and dietary requirements while maintaining quality standards. A passion for culinary arts and commitment to providing exceptional meals.
