Job Description

A Line Cook plays a key role in kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, cooking menu items to specification, and maintaining a clean, efficient workstation. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with a team approach, and a commitment to food quality and safety. Reports to Head Chef. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and quality expectations Set up and stock stations with necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation throughout service Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling and storage Assist with prep work such as chopping vegetables, making sauces, and portioning ingredients Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly Support the team by assisting with inventory, receiving deliveries, and rotating stock Qualifications Previous experience as a line cook or prep cook Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment Ability to work efficiently under pressure Strong teamwork and communication skills Will need to have ServSafe certification or within 30 days of employment Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30-50 lbs. Work Environment Fast‑paced kitchen setting Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required Exposure to heat, steam, and kitchen equipment Bottom Creek Brewing is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in our team and community.
