Description of the role: The Banquet Cook at Park Place Hotel in Traverse City, MI is a vital part of our culinary team. They are responsible for preparing delicious and high-quality dishes for banquets, weddings, and other special events hosted at our hotel. Attention to detail, organization, and creativity are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook menu items following recipes and presentation standards Coordinate with the Banquet Chef to ensure timely delivery of dishes Maintain a clean and organized work area Assist in menu planning and development

Requirements:

Prior experience as a cook in a banquet or catering setting Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment Attention to detail and organization skills

Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards Correctly prepare all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food is preserved Keep work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation Prep all food for next shift and for the following day Work with servers to ensure guest satisfaction and resolve complaints about food service as needed Other duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred Minimum 1-year experience cooking at a restaurant or full-service hotel preferred Culinary school 2-4 year degree preferred Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays depending on business needs
