Full-Time / Part-Time | Hourly About the Role The Line Cook position at The Good Bowl is about more than executing dishes—it's about honoring the craft and culture behind Vietnamese cuisine. As a chef-driven Vietnamese restaurant, we are committed to authentic techniques, intentional preparation, and consistency in every dish we serve. In this role, you are responsible for bringing our menu to life with precision, care, and respect for tradition. Every plate that leaves the kitchen represents our story—of heritage, community, and purpose. Through our business model, we've donated over $200,000 back to our community, proving that thoughtful food can create real impact. Your attention to detail, discipline, and pride in your work directly support both our chef's vision and our mission to be a force for good.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation & Execution Prepare and execute menu items with consistency, accuracy, and attention to detail Follow recipes, portioning, and plating standards to ensure quality and uniformity Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout service Execute tickets efficiently while maintaining high culinary standards under pressure Ensure all food is prepared and stored according to food safety and sanitation guidelines Kitchen Operations Set up and break down your station before and after service Communicate clearly with fellow cooks and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow Manage prep tasks and stocking levels to support service readiness Monitor product quality and report any inconsistencies or shortages Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries Team Support Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to maintain a positive and efficient environment Support teammates during peak service times to ensure overall kitchen success Help train and onboard new team members by modeling standards and work ethic Stay flexible and assist in other areas of the kitchen as needed Team & Culture Stay curious: deepen your understanding of Vietnamese ingredients, techniques, and traditions Take pride in your craft and contribute to a culture of excellence and accountability Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and team-first mindset Communicate openly with management about kitchen needs, challenges, or opportunities for improvement Qualifications 1+ years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment preferred Basic knife skills and understanding of cooking techniques Ability to follow recipes and execute dishes consistently Strong communication and teamwork skills ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain) Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage based on experience Growth opportunities as The Good Bowl expands Employee dining benefits A supportive, mission-driven team culture The Good Bowl is an equal opportunity employer.
