This role is essential in providing high-quality food service to our residents, ensuring that their dietary needs are met with care and professionalism. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in culinary practices, food safety, and menu planning, contributing to a positive dining experience in our skilled nursing facility. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to established dietary guidelines and resident preferences. Plan menus that cater to the nutritional needs of residents while incorporating variety and flavor. Ensure all food handling and preparation meets safety standards to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment. Collaborate with the dietary department to assess resident needs and adjust menus accordingly. Assist in food service operations, including plating meals and serving residents in a fine dining setting. Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and assist with ordering as needed. Train and supervise dietary aides in proper food preparation techniques and safety protocols. Participate in catering events as required, ensuring high standards of service are upheld. Qualifications Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in skilled nursing or similar environments is preferred. Strong culinary skills with experience in cooking, meal preparation, and fine dining service. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling. Experience with menu planning and dietary aide responsibilities is a plus. Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a focus on resident satisfaction. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation and service.
