George's is looking for a strong Lead Cook to help run the line in a fast-paced, high-volume diner environment. This is a hands-on kitchen leadership role for someone who can cook with urgency, stay organized under pressure, and help keep the team focused and moving. We serve breakfast, lunch, and classic diner favorites all day — consistency, communication, and pace matter here. The right person is dependable, calm during busy rushes, and takes pride in running a clean, efficient kitchen. Responsibilities Lead and support the kitchen team during service Cook breakfast, lunch, and diner menu items to recipe and standard Help manage ticket flow and maintain kitchen pace during rushes Keep stations stocked, organized, and ready for service Assist with prep, line setup, and shift transitions Maintain food quality, portioning, and presentation standards Follow and enforce food safety and sanitation procedures Help train and support newer cooks Communicate clearly with management and team members Help maintain a positive, professional kitchen culture Qualifications Previous line cook experience required Leadership or lead cook experience preferred Strong breakfast experience is a major plus Able to work quickly and stay organized in a high-volume environment Reliable, punctual, and consistent Able to multitask and lead by example Comfortable working weekends and busy shifts Strong teamwork and communication skills What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who can help hold the kitchen together during busy services — not just cook food. This role is ideal for a strong cook ready to step into more responsibility and become a key part of the operation. Pay:
$15.00 - $20.00 per hour
