Job Overview Evera at Hoyt Lakes is seeking a dedicated and energetic Cook to join our team, bringing passion and expertise to our culinary and dietary services. In this vital role, you will be responsible for supporting the dietary department through meal preparation, food service, and ensuring food safety standards are met. Your enthusiasm for food industry practices and culinary skills will help create a positive dining experience for our clients, residents, or guests. Duties Assist with menu planning in collaboration with the dietary team to meet nutritional guidelines and accommodate special dietary needs Prepare and serve meals following established recipes, portion sizes, and food safety protocols Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, sanitation, and adherence to food handling regulations Support food preparation activities including chopping, cooking, plating, and garnishing dishes Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas by following sanitation standards and cleaning schedules Serve meals efficiently while providing friendly customer service to residents or guests Support catering events or special meal occasions as needed, ensuring timely delivery and presentation Qualifications Prior experience in dietary services, food preparation, or the food industry is highly desirable Knowledge of menu planning, cooking techniques, and food safety standards Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques Experience in food handling, serving, and maintaining hygiene standards in a kitchen or restaurant setting Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude Basic understanding of dietary requirements and accommodations for special diets Join our assisted living community to bring your culinary talents to life while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Pay:
$19.35 - $24.13 per hour
