Job Description

Position Summary:
Parkriver Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable and motivated Cook to join our dietary team. The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing meals for our residents while following dietary guidelines, sanitation standards, and physician-ordered diets. This role plays an important part in ensuring residents receive high-quality meals that support their health, comfort, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and resident dietary needs. Follow all therapeutic diet requirements and portion controls as directed by the dietary department. Ensure food is prepared in accordance with sanitation and safety standards. Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and work area. Assist with food preparation, storage, and inventory rotation following proper food safety procedures. Work collaboratively with dietary staff to ensure meals are served on time and at appropriate temperatures. Follow all state and federal regulations related to food service in a healthcare setting. Support a positive dining experience for residents.
Qualifications:
Previous cooking experience required; healthcare or long-term care experience preferred. Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices. Ability to follow recipes, menus, and therapeutic diet instructions. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. Must demonstrate reliability and a commitment to resident care.
