What You Will Do The Assistant Food Coordinator (Assistant Cook) - Senior Dining assists the Food Coordinator (Head Cook) with the preparation and service of the noon meal for Senior Dining and Meals on Wheels programs. This role supports daily kitchen operations while ensuring food safety, cleanliness, and quality service for our senior clients. Key Responsibilities Assist the Food Coordinator (Head Cook) with daily kitchen operations, including: Preparing food items using established recipesPortioning and dishing up food itemsServing in-house dining participants Prepare and package food items and supplies for: Satellite Senior Dining sites using food carriersMeals on Wheels routes, as necessary Stay familiar with and comply with all Minnesota Department of Health food safety regulations, including: Recording required hot and cold food temperaturesEnsuring safe and sanitary use of kitchen equipment, tools, and work surfacesFollowing first aid and fire safety guidelines Check incoming food supply purchases; label, date, store, and monitor food inventoryAssist with cleaning duties, including: Sweeping and mopping kitchen floorsWashing and sanitizing dishes and food carriersEmptying garbage containers

What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Education:

High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of cooking experience requiredKnowledge of food service equipment operation is helpful Why Join Us?
