Duties Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with approved menus and dietary guidelines tailored for children Plan menus that incorporate balanced, appealing, and age-appropriate food options Ensure all food handling and preparation practices adhere to strict food safety standards and sanitation protocols Assist with food service by setting up meal stations, serving meals, and maintaining a clean dining environment Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies and monitoring expiration dates to minimize waste Follow proper knife skills and cooking techniques to efficiently prepare a variety of dishes Collaborate with dietary staff to accommodate special dietary needs or allergies among children Skills Proven dietary department experience or dietary aide experience in a childcare or healthcare setting Strong menu planning skills with an understanding of nutritional requirements for young children Extensive food preparation, cooking, and food handling expertise within the food industry or restaurant environment Excellent kitchen skills including knife proficiency, meal preparation, and food safety practices Experience in catering or large-scale food service operations is a plus Knowledge of food industry standards related to hygiene, sanitation, and safety regulations Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards This role is perfect for individuals passionate about creating wholesome meals that make a difference in children's lives.
