In this vital role, you will be responsible for supporting food service operations, assisting with meal preparation, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your enthusiasm and culinary skills will help create a welcoming environment where delicious, nutritious meals are served with care. Whether working in a dietary department, catering setting, or fine dining environment, your contribution will be essential to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Responsibilities Assist with menu planning and meal preparation to meet dietary guidelines and customer preferences Prepare food items using proper cooking techniques, knife skills, and food handling procedures Support dietary aides in serving meals efficiently and courteously to residents or guests Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food service areas in compliance with food safety standards Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, portioning, and presentation for optimal quality Contribute to catering events by preparing and serving food in a timely manner Follow all food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure a safe dining environment Skills Prior experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable Strong knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry best practices Proven culinary experience with fine dining or restaurant backgrounds preferred Excellent food handling, cooking, and food service skills including knife proficiency Familiarity with kitchen operations, food safety regulations, and catering procedures Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and serve guests professionally
