Job Description

Job Summary:
Responsible for overall preparation of meals compliant with Diet Orders, menu specifications, Company Policies, State and Federal Laws, Dietary/Sanitary Regulations under supervision of Dietary Supervisor and Manager; receives incoming grocery orders and supplies; assists with maintaining adequate inventory and accurate inventory records; maintains high standards of quality in food preparation and service; must communicate courteously, respectfully with Employees, Residents and others; must maintain high degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene
Qualifications:
Experience in large-scale cooking services is preferred; on-the-job training will be provided; must be in good physical condition, able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions to accomplish job duties; must pass drug screens and have a satisfactory
Criminal History Background Check Duties and Responsibilities:
Immediately ensures any liquids on floor are cleaned; reports other Safety Hazards to Maintenance Supervisor If requested, serves on Safety Committee and participates in Safety Meetings and Safety Audits Complies with Infection Control Policies; reports contact with infectious disease to Infection Control Nurse Assists with food orders, receiving and checking in supplies, storing food and maintaining inventory Reviews menus, prepares and serves food and meals in accordance with planned menus, Diet Plans, recipes, portion / temperature control procedures and facility Policies Assists with cleaning and sanitizing of work areas, equipment, floors, dishes, utensils, and any other areas of the Dietary Department or Dining Rooms as needed or requested Assists in checking meal trays for menu accuracy and diet preferences Reviews and processes Diet Order changes and ensures menus are followed and maintained Ensures proper storage and availability of foods and supplies for the next meals Assists with directing the work of other Dietary staff as requested by Supervisors and Dietary Manager If/when requested, serves as Dietary Supervisor and assists in maintaining records
