Dillsboro, NC The Jarrett House The Jarrett House is a historic boutique hotel and beloved Dillsboro landmark located in the Great Smoky Mountains. Established in 1884, the property blends Southern hospitality with authentic Victorian charm. The Jarrett House includes guest rooms, a full-service restaurant, event space with bar service, and a retail bakery featuring house-made desserts. We are looking for dependable, service-minded team members who want to be part of a historic hospitality property and help create memorable guest experiences. Line Cook Position Overview Line Cooks at The Jarrett House help prepare high-quality meals for restaurant guests, events, and special gatherings. This role includes setting up stations, preparing ingredients, cooking menu items, maintaining food quality, and working closely with the kitchen team during service. Line Cooks should be organized, efficient, and committed to consistency, cleanliness, and food safety. Responsibilities Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to recipes, standards, and timing guidelines. Set up and stock assigned stations before service. Maintain quality, consistency, and presentation of food. Assist with prep work, portioning, cooking, and production needs. Support family-style service, event meals, and banquet operations. Follow proper food storage, labeling, rotation, and sanitation procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation. Work closely with chefs, kitchen team members, servers, and management. Assist with receiving, stocking, and inventory as needed. Follow all food safety and workplace safety standards. Qualifications Previous line cook, prep cook, or culinary experience preferred. Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen organization. Ability to work efficiently under pressure. Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency. Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team. Dependable, punctual, and available for flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays. Ability to stand for long periods and lift, carry, bend, and move throughout a shift. Experience with Southern cooking, hotel dining, or banquet service is a plus. Compensation Starting at $16+/hour , dependent upon experience and position. Employee dining/retail discounts and growth opportunities in a historic community-focused setting.
