The Line Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and assembling menu items according to company recipes, food safety standards, and quality guidelines. This position works in a fast-paced kitchen environment to ensure customers receive fresh, accurate, and high-quality meals in a timely manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and portion specifications. Set up and stock workstations with necessary ingredients and supplies. Maintain food quality, presentation, and consistency during all shifts. Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. Monitor food temperatures and properly store products. Restock ingredients and supplies as needed throughout the shift. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Keep workstations, kitchen equipment, and food preparation areas clean and organized. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries. Minimize food waste and follow inventory control procedures. Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Support other kitchen and restaurant duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous cooking or food service experience preferred but not required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively. Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods of time. Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Work in hot, cold, and fast-paced kitchen conditions. Perform repetitive motions such as chopping, stirring, and lifting. Skills Food preparation and cooking techniques Time management Teamwork and communication Organization and cleanliness Ability to follow recipes and procedures Work Environment This position works in a quick service restaurant kitchen where speed, accuracy, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction are essential.
