Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in the food preparation process, ensuring that meals are prepared efficiently and to the highest standards. This position is perfect for individuals with experience in the food industry who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Your Duties and Responsibilities Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period. Item specifications, including preparation, execution, and presentation will be provided to you. Prepare ingredients for cooking by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring food items. Know and comply consistently with standard portion size, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies and procedures. Prevent the spoiling and contamination of foods by implementing proper sanitation practices while ensuring compliance with policy and health regulations. Maintain a clean work station including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment. Assist in the daily cleaning of the pantry, cooking line, prep kitchen, dish area, stairs, walk-in and prep area. Ensure that all meal preparations align with dietary guidelines. Support chefs and cooks during meal preparation and cooking processes. Participate in catering events as needed, contributing to menu execution and presentation. Utilize knife skills effectively for precise food preparation. What You Bring 1 year of previous experience in restaurant and/or culinary experience in a high volume, full service restaurant is preferred. Time management and organizational ability required for high quality food production. Ability to work with minimal direction or supervision to complete assigned tasks. Food Handler Certification (if applicable). Trained in knife skills and basic kitchen equipment usage. Able to multitask in a dynamic, and fast paced environment. You're able to establish a positive rapport with many types of personalities. Flexible schedule, able to work weekends, and holidays when needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch for the duration of shift (eight hours) Ability to lift and/or move and/or push up to 40 pounds without assistance Differences make a difference.
