Job Description

Production Cook / Processor 170 West Road, Portsmouth, NH 03801 $16.50 - $20.00 an hour - Part-time $16.50 - $20.00 an hour -
Part-time Responsibilities:
Prepare, weigh, and stage ingredients according to approved recipes and production formulas. Operate cooking and food processing equipment such as mixers, ovens, blenders, tumblers, seasoning systems, and other manufacturing machinery. Monitor cooking temperatures, mixing times, batch consistency, moisture levels, and product appearance to ensure quality standards are met. Follow batch sheets, recipes, and production schedules accurately to maintain product consistency. Perform product checks to verify taste, texture, weight, color, and quality specifications. Safely add ingredients and monitor cooking or processing cycles to prevent product waste or inconsistencies. Complete required production documentation, batch records, temperature logs, and quality forms accurately. Clean and sanitize processing equipment, utensils, and production areas according to sanitation standards and procedures. Follow all food safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, SQF, allergen control, and sanitation requirements. Assist with equipment setup, line changeovers, and minor troubleshooting of processing equipment. Communicate equipment issues, ingredient shortages, or quality concerns to supervisors and maintenance teams. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while complying with all safety procedures. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in food manufacturing, food processing, commercial cooking, or production preferred. Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices preferred. Ability to read recipes, batch sheets, and production instructions accurately. Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and adjusting batch sizes. Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate food processing equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product consistency and quality. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, or noisy production environments. Work Environment Food manufacturing and processing facility. Required use of PPE including hairnets, beard nets, gloves, aprons, safety glasses, and hearing protection as needed. May require overtime, weekends, or flexible shifts based on production demand. Key Performance Expectations Produce consistent, high-quality food products according to specifications. Meet production efficiency and batch completion goals. Maintain food safety and sanitation compliance at all times. Minimize waste and downtime through proper processing techniques.
Pay:
$16.50 - $20.00 per hour
