Job Description
Good food starts before the doors open. Barn & Thistle is an eatery and gift shoppe in Westmoreland, NH, serving breakfast, lunch, and fresh-baked goods in a building that has been the heart of this village since 1839. Everything we serve depends on the quiet, careful work that happens before the first customer walks in, and that's where you come in. We're looking for a prep cook who takes pride in the fundamentals: clean knife work, organized stations, ingredients handled with care. You'll be the foundation the whole kitchen builds on, and a full member of a small creative team where everyone's work shows up on the plate. What you'll do: Prep ingredients for breakfast and lunch service: chopping, slicing, portioning, batching Keep stations stocked, labeled, and organized Follow recipes consistently so every plate tastes like ours Maintain food safety and cleanliness standards throughout your shift Pitch in where the kitchen needs you — we're a small team and we work like one Who you are: Solid knife skills and kitchen sense, professional or home-grown both welcome Consistent, organized, and self-directed once you know the routine Someone who finds satisfaction in doing the unglamorous work well Dependable.
