Job Description

Cook/Meal Prep Specialist
  • Christian Pentecostal After School Location:
    Irvington, NJ CPAS, a nurturing and inclusive childcare facility, is seeking a dedicated and experienced
  • Cook/Meal Prep Specialist
  • to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children while adhering to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook healthy, child-friendly meals and snacks for children aged 6 weeks to 13 years.
  • Create weekly menus that meet state guidelines and nutritional requirements.
  • Manage inventory, order food supplies, and maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including SafeServ requirements.
  • Collaborate with staff to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies.
  • Ensure timely delivery of meals and snacks in coordination with the classroom schedules.
  • Prepare for staff meetings and special events with setup and catering experience.
Qualifications:
  • Experience as a cook in a childcare, school, or similar setting preferred.
  • Current SafeServ Certification
  • is required.
  • Knowledge of child nutrition, portion sizes, and allergy management.
  • Familiarity with health and safety guidelines for food preparation.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to interact positively with children and staff.
  • Strong attention to sanitary guidelines, area cleanliness, kitchen area cleaning and organization
