Cook Qualification Requirements:

A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. The ability to pass a drug test and background check is required. Experience as a prep cook at minimum is needed, which can be informal/volunteering or professional experience. Prior food service experience in a healthcare setting would be helpful, although we can train someone in the necessary skills. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, or the ability to be trained in these topics. Ability to follow recipes and prepare a variety of dishes. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Commitment to promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Cook Job Responsibilities:

Meal Preparation:

Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menus, ensuring food quality and presentation standards are met.

Food Safety:

Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Inventory Management:

Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storing food and supplies.

Special Diets:

Accommodate special dietary needs and preferences of clients, as necessary.

Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Cleanliness:

Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.

Menu Planning:

Assist with menu planning and development to provide a variety of nutritious and appealing meals.

Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and standards.

Pay:

$20 to $21 per hourly based on experience.
