Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and organized Cook to support daily food service operations in a structured dining environment in Morristown, NJ. This position is responsible for meal preparation, serving, inventory organization, sanitation, and assisting with overall kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Responsibilities for the
Cook:
Review daily menus and production requirements Assist with breakfast preparation and service Prepare lunch entrées, side dishes, vegetables, and baked goods Follow recipes and production schedules to ensure quality and consistency Set up serving lines and hot holding stations Prepare grab-and-go meal options Serve meals to students and staff in a professional manner Maintain food quality and presentation standards Label, date, and properly store food products Maintain clean and organized workstations Wash dishes and support sanitation efforts throughout the shift Organize storage areas and the walk-in freezer Receive, stock, and rotate inventory as assigned Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs Maintain food safety and sanitation standards Assist with ingredient preparation and planning for upcoming menus Benefits of the cook: Monday - Friday 5:30 am-2 pm, occasional weekend coverage required during the first weekend of each program cycle Pay rate $26 hr Medical / Dental/ Vision, without waiting period Qualifications for the cook: Previous cooking or food preparation experience preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment Strong organizational and time management skills Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Ability to lift, carry, and move food products and supplies as needed Dependable attendance and punctuality required #INDDO
