Job Description
The Original Mels is looking for an experienced daytime prep cook at our Boomtown location. Applicants must be available to work weekends and holidays. Specifically we need someone to work Thursday - Monday from 7am to 3pm. We are closed Thanksgiving and Christmas days. This is a high volume, fast paced restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner and provides profitable opportunities for strong performers in an environment that is friendly and fun. The Prep cook's duties are to prepare ingredients for production on the cooks line. The Prep Cook needs to be able to work efficiently and multitask. Cleanliness and organization are key. The Prep Cook needs to be able to follow recipes, use knives, slicers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment safely. Knowledge of food safety is also key. The Prep Cook will also be in charge of ensuring that the kitchen prep area and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained. Food handlers card required upon hire and pay range depends on experience and performance. Cooks make $1.00 - $2.00 in tips in addition to their hourly wage. This position comes with opportunities for job advancement to Line Cook and over time.
