Job Description

Assistant Cook- Full Time- Days/Evenings When two established local health systems unite as one collaborative network, healthcare becomes so much more. Position Overview:
The Assistant Cook prepares food for service for residents, patients, employees and visitors. What you'll do: Prepare meals for service per recipe for service to patients and retail customers Prepare and serve meals for catering events. Deliver and set-up catering functions May fill in as production cook, as needed Assist with menu and recipe development Adhere to all local, state and federal food safety and sanitation codes Accurately complete all temperature logs to ensure food safety Maintain all food storage and production areas in inspection-ready condition. Monitor overproduction to minimize waste Serve patrons and complete sales via POS in retail outlet Daily use of Food Service Management software for production sheets
Minimum Qualifications:
2 years of cooking/food production. 1 year food safety experience
Preferred Qualifications:
3 or more years of cooking in large-scale production kitchen Experience cooking in a healthcare environment Servsafe or Food Safety Manager certified 2 year culinary degree
Physical Requirements:
Lifting of 50 #. Standing for long periods of time. Working in an environment that includes a wide range of temperatures including production areas and walk-in coolers/freezers.

Location:
Onsite at Cayuga Medical Center- 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850
Shift:
Mostly days and rotating weekends and holidays. Occasional evenings for catering.
Travel:
25% Travel may be expected if asked to assist with other locations
Pay Range Disclosure:
