Experienced Kitchen Cook

Now hiring a full time year round cook for summer camp and academic year. Starting pay is commensurate with experience. We provide amazing benefits including health insurance from day 1. We cook with produce that has been grown in our gardens or locally procured. Our pork and lamb has been raised on our farm and had been cared for by our staff and students. We buy other meats locally, sustaining our community. We also raise our own chickens and turkeys for both meat and eggs. Our cooks have the opportunity to cook using their individual skills. We prepare meals from scratch everyday and provide family-style meals. The menu is constantly changing and individual creativity is encouraged. This is a full-time position with 2 days off together each week and a schedule that allows you to be home at a reasonable time each night. We encourage all interested to apply.

Responsibilities:

Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a school kitchen or restaurant Able to work in a fast paced environment Strong attention to details and ability to follow instructions and recipes Excellent time management skills Able to work in a team environment and help in all aspects as needed Experience working in an environment with children; provide supervisory guidance in providing direction to students/campers who work on various kitchen tasks Strong knowledge of food handling and safety procedures Strong passion for cooking and/or baking and creating dishes from various cultures Have experience in preparing for various dietary needs; being conscious of allergens in food and providing options to serve various food requirements Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and able to climb stairs
