As a Prep Cook, you will be the backbone of meal preparation, supporting the kitchen staff with food handling, ingredient prep, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create memorable dining experiences for all. Duties Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring to ensure timely meal assembly Assist in food preparation for daily service, including portioning and organizing ingredients for efficient cooking Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to maintain hygiene standards Support cooking processes by assisting chefs with basic cooking tasks and plating dishes when needed Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts to promote a safe kitchen environment Help with menu planning by organizing ingredients according to upcoming dishes and special dietary needs Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and uphold quality standards during busy hours Experience Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with food handling and safety practices Experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings provides a strong foundation for success in this role Knowledge of culinary techniques, knife skills, and meal preparation enhances your ability to support kitchen operations effectively Background in the food industry or catering environments showcases adaptability and teamwork skills Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures is essential for maintaining high standards Prior kitchen experience involving food service or restaurant work will help you thrive in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are key assets for managing multiple prep tasks efficiently
