Job Description

Job Summary:
At Camp Dudley, Our Kitchen Crew (K-CREW) feeds 500 people 3 meals a day. We provide meals for campers and staff, prepare food for special diets, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen. Our Kitchen operates from Mid-May through Mid-September. We have a state of the art kitchen facility and we work hard to ensure that our community is well fed and happy. We employ chefs, line cooks, prep cooks, bakers, dishwashers, and front of house attendants. While experience is preferred, we do provide on-the-job training for qualified applicants. It is a dynamic and fun place to work with a strong culture of putting the other fellow first. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team. As a Line Cook/Prep Cook, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of various dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Your culinary expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the overall success of our kitchen operations. Opportunities for advancement to positions like Head Chef and Management.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices
  • Assist in the cooking and plating of menu items according to recipes and guidelines
  • Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to ensure the quality and freshness of ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and storing food properly
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during peak hours
  • Assist with inventory management and stock rotation to minimize waste
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a culinary role, preferably in a restaurant or food industry setting
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology
  • Proficient knife skills for chopping, dicing, and slicing ingredients
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
