Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to support our culinary and dietary teams in delivering high-quality meal services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food handling, food preparation, and kitchen operations within a healthcare or hospitality setting. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a team committed to providing nutritious, well-presented meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents or guests. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent food safety practices, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting culinary excellence. Duties Assist in preparing and serving meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality. Support the dietary department with food handling, portioning, and food safety procedures to maintain hygiene standards. Help with meal presentation and plating to ensure visually appealing dishes in line with nutritional requirements. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas, adhering strictly to sanitation protocols. Collaborate with kitchen staff and dietary team to facilitate efficient meal service and accommodate special dietary requests. Assist in inventory management by monitoring supplies, reporting shortages, and ensuring proper storage of ingredients. Support catering functions or special events by preparing food items and assisting with setup as needed. Experience Prior experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide within healthcare, hospitality, or food service environments. Knowledge of food handling procedures, sanitation standards, and safety regulations relevant to food preparation. Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food presentation in settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, or fine dining establishments. Familiarity with culinary techniques including knife skills, cooking methods, and food industry best practices. Background in supporting catering services or large-scale meal production is advantageous. Strong understanding of dietary restrictions, nutritional guidelines, and the importance of food safety compliance. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience that demonstrates proficiency in food service operations is highly desirable.
