The Prep Cook plays a critical role in maintaining food quality, consistency, and efficiency while adhering to all food safety and sanitation standards. Key Responsibilities Food Preparation Prepare ingredients according to company recipes and standards, including chopping, slicing, portioning, marinating, and mixing. Measure and package ingredients for daily service and catering events. Prepare sauces, dressings, proteins, vegetables, and other menu components. Ensure all prep work is completed accurately and on schedule. Inventory & Organization Receive, inspect, and properly store deliveries. Label, date, and rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures. Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment. Maintain organized storage, refrigeration, and prep areas. Food Safety & Sanitation Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment throughout the shift. Properly handle, store, and dispose of food products. Ensure food is prepared and stored at proper temperatures. Team Support Work closely with the Kitchen Manager and Line Cooks to ensure service readiness. Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties. Support food truck operations during peak periods as needed. Communicate product shortages, quality concerns, and equipment issues to management. Qualifications Previous prep cook, kitchen, restaurant, or food service experience preferred. Ability to follow recipes, prep lists, and instructions accurately. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Preferred Qualifications Food truck, quick-service, or high-volume kitchen experience. Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain). Basic knife skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
