Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, maintaining consistency and quality. Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients to streamline kitchen operations. Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures to ensure a safe dining environment. Support meal assembly and plating, ensuring each dish is visually appealing and served promptly. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils. Collaborate with team members to coordinate service flow during busy hours, supporting overall restaurant operations. Assist with catering orders and special event food preparations when needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork. Skills Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment, with a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking techniques. Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus for accommodating special dietary needs. Proficiency in menu planning, food handling, and meal preparation to support diverse culinary offerings. Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods to ensure efficient food production. Understanding of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices within the kitchen setting. Experience in catering services or large-scale food production is advantageous for supporting event needs. Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
