  • Part-time Do you love working with food, keeping a kitchen clean and organized, and interested in joining a team of hard working, committed individuals?
We invite you to join our team and become our Kitchen Cook/Prep! Gillig Winery provides delectable dishes utilizing a non-traditional "Bistro Kitchen". Position requirements include, but not limited to, prepping food, cooking dishes for winery guests, assisting in organizing menus for events, adhering to any and all Health Department Standards, organizing kitchen processes to maintain high quality, safety, efficiency, and profitability. Gillig Winery is hiring a Kitchen Cook/Prep, preferably with kitchen knowledge or experience, but not required. Hours are 20-35 hours per week (Tuesday-Saturday and occasional Mondays for special events). We are closed on Sundays. Must be available to work during our regular hours of operation which includes afternoons and evenings.
Qualifications:
Self-motivated Responsible Reliable Excellent communicator Detail oriented Well-kept Enjoys cooking and plating food Food industry experience preferred
Requirements:
ServSafe certification recommended, but not required By law, must be 16 years of age or older Must be able to work both independently and as a team Must be able to stand for long periods of time Must maintain an exceptionally clean and organized kitchen environment Able to work clear-minded in a fast-paced environment while multitasking Shifts vary with mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
Responsibilities:
Assist Kitchen Lead with all monthly food and drink specials Assist Kitchen Lead with all food and drink menus for events Ensure food preparation areas are clean and hygienic Utensils and dishes are washed and stored according to Health Department Guidelines Performs food preparation as required for winery and events Performs cooking and plating of food and clean up Ensures all aspects of kitchen cleanliness, including storage areas and refrigeration units
